OTHER WORK
There's something powerful about our ability to recall the past and the inherent inability to recall things exactly. I think this is what gets me - memory fades, it changes over time, it is altered by emotions, it is subjective, it is imperfect..... as are we, flawed and unique. For over 20 years memory has been both the subject of and the tool by which I make my work.
One of the major goals with my art is to make personal remembrances and experiences tangible to an audience. Through the use of re-contextualized objects, photographs, and writing I am able to tell the stories of these everyday items and the people behind them.
