(my) museum

How does one begin to archive their life, how might such work be displayed, in what ways can it be discussed and what relevance can it have for the outside audience? Inheriting my childhood home and a large collection of family items gives me the unique ability to look back and begin to answer these questions or at least consider them.

This material-fueled interest in archiving everything I own and inherited became (my) museum, a temporary public exhibition in my childhood home about the people, memories and objects contained within it. What began as a way to commemorate my home and my history in it, evolved into a year-long project combining my interest in museum studies (research in ethnographic, science, art and house museums), other artists who have made work within or about such institutions and the extra-ordinariness of everyday life.
